Reflecting on Our Podcast Conversation
What does it mean to live intentionally and give generously as followers of Christ? It’s a question we discussed in depth on our latest podcast and one that I believe holds the power to transform how we approach our faith, our resources, and our purpose.
If you’ve ever felt stuck in the routine of daily life, wondering if you’re truly living out God’s plan for you, then this conversation is for you. Living intentionally means aligning every aspect of our lives with God’s purpose. Giving generously? It’s about understanding that everything we have belongs to God and stewarding it wisely for His glory.
Start with the Heart: Living Intentionally
Intentional living begins in the heart, shaped by a desire to reflect Jesus in all we do. Scripture offers countless examples of this. Take Colossians 3:17, which reminds us:
“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Whether it’s in our work, relationships, or quiet moments, living with intention means seeking to honor God above all else.
During the podcast, we discussed practical ways to pursue this kind of life, from setting Christ-centered goals to staying grounded in prayer. It’s about asking yourself daily: “Am I living for myself, or am I walking in step with God’s plan?”
Why Generosity Matters
Generosity is not just about writing a check or dropping a tithe in the offering plate (although those are wonderful acts of worship!). True biblical generosity flows from understanding that everything we own is a gift from God. As Psalm 24:1 declares:
“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”
We shared stories in the podcast about how giving has brought joy and freedom to those who embraced it as a lifestyle. One story stood out: a man who discovered the joy of “hilarious giving” — giving so freely and joyfully that it brought laughter and tears at the same time.
This kind of generosity is contagious. It draws others closer to God and inspires them to join in His work. As 2 Corinthians 9:7 encourages us:
“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
